ASUS Prime RX 9070 16GB OC is a strong value play for 4K gaming, especially if a little tuning can push it close to 9070 XT performance. The price is viewed as only slightly above MSRP and still competitive against current Nvidia pricing, with the 16GB model seen as better value than a 5060 Ti 16GB. The main drawback is that nearby 9070 XT deals can land close enough to make this less compelling. Case fit also matters, since some competing cards are described as very large.
The $629.99 price is framed as reasonable compared with higher Nvidia pricing for similar performance tiers.
The card can be overclocked with a few minutes of work to reach performance close to a 9070 XT level.
Buying the XT model for roughly $100 more can include an ONIMUSHA game code.
A prior Walmart price of $550 for a Gigabyte XT is cited as proof that sub-$600 pricing can happen for 9070-class cards.
Deal value is questioned because XT sales around $650 reportedly lasted only about four hours, and sub-$600 non-XT pricing may return later.
PowerColor 9070 XT models are described as over 12 inches long and may not fit every PC case.
PowerColor cards are described as huge, and they may not fit cases that require a sub-300mm GPU length.
The current pricing is criticized as a regression versus a $670 9070XT purchase price.
