I had a second generation wired Ring. It failed in less than a year. The other problem I had with it was that I expected it to automatically notify/display and record the activity that triggered it. I called Ring technical support and got the typical script reading agent. That person did not really understand my question. My remedy was to install a solar powered (I cannot remember the brand) that, when triggered, displays and records the event.

BTW, I am a silver key member and I cannot duplicate this deal. And because it's a sale price, no military discounts either... I wanted it shipped to my house and maybe that makes a difference.

$109.99 shows up after we add it to the cart. Before that it shows $70 off.

This is a steal. I got one on prime day 2026. Paid for the $3 24/7 recording. Works much better than my older battery one with the trickle charge. Changing the transformer was easy af too.

Great deal I have one on my house and paid the 249. In my opinion it's worth it especially if you have rings protection plan that adds the alarm system monitoring. Then it comes with warranty as long as you have the protection plan, they will cover it if it ever fails you will receive a new one. I can't tell you the amount of times I had to have my ring products exchanged after about two years of continuous use outdoors. No money out of pocket except for that yearly protection plan. I believe the protection plan I pay is 220 a year. That covers every ring product on your account. You also get a discount on homeowners insurance for having that plan if you have the alarm in your house with fire monitoring.

Amazing deal considering that the MSRP is $249. I didn't really need to upgrade from my Ring Doorbell Pro (2021) but for this price I ordered one for curbside pickup. Not sure if I'll be adding the $3/mo 24/7 recording since I have a NVR/CCTV system for that but it's nice to have the option.

Yes, subscription required if you want to see old videos. No subscription required to watch videos the moment you get an alert or someone is ringing a doorbell. I believe you need subscription even if you want to watch a couple minute old videos.

just installed this on friday at my place after an older version died. It is definitely an upgrade.

Note that this WILL NOT fire your existing (physical) chime. It includes a mini chime module that you can wire in/next to the physical chime.

Hasn't the basic plan increased to $4.99/month?

Do you happen to know your approximate savings on your insurance for having that? Thanks.
