I got one of these used, like-new for about $131 a few months back, and I was surprised at how accurate the car detection is. No false positives that I could detect (other testers suggest that the false positive rate is <1%), and the correct detection rate was well over 95%, usually picking up the cars long before I could hear their tires or engine noise approaching. The field of view (cone of detection) is reasonable too -- it tended to pick up cars on the highway running parallel with the cycle path when the path veered close to the highway, but never confused me as to "Why is it dinging?" -- all the alerts made sense.
