I got this on one of the EPP deals earlier this summer which you should absolutely wait for if you're thinking that you want one of these. I think it's definitely worth the price I paid but there's a few lower points worth noting. First, it doesn't really come with a frame. It has a bezel, but if you want it to look like an actual picture be prepared to either build or shell out some serious money for a pre manufactured frame. Seriously, they aren't cheap at all.

Second, the wall mounting system for this sucks. Not just a little bit, A LOT. I don't know what damn idiot felt like there needed to be two separate mounting brackets, but they should be kicked repeatedly in the junk until they fall over and once face down in the dirt they should be rolled over and their groin restomped for good measure. It's a horrendous system. I'm a pretty handy guy and it was a damn pain in the ass to get it perfectly level.

Third, TV performance is pretty good. Better than I thought actually. I watched all of the World Cup games on it and it handled the motion pretty well. Colors are decent. Blacks are meh. Tizen OS is actually a hell of a lot better than the last time I had a Samsung TV. When you put it in art mode my recommendation is that you set it to the absolutely lowest brightness and the warmest color tone. I wish it was easier to share photos and I'd share some but I'm not going through the hassle of switching over to the advanced mode.

I think I paid $700 for the 65" version that came with a sound bar, but I'd have to go back and confirm that. For that price it's worth every penny and my wife loves it after I built a frame for it. Before it had the frame it really just looked like a TV. I hope this helps someone.

I believe prior prime day had it $999 including bezel. $700 is a great price. I missed the deal.

I went back and confirmed, it was actually $675 and came with an S-60D sound bar. It was a ridiculous deal, and not everyone could get it, so I understand it was a bit YMMV, but I definitely recommend this TV at that price. Not sure I'd feel it was worth it at $1k given its shortcomings and hassle of mounting. Though I'm a cheap bastard that won't pay for mounting so that may be a non issue for someone that wasn't going to do mount it themselves anyway.

the price keeps fluctuating everyday on the samsung website. I was checking everyday for last 2 weeks. then last week it was listed for $900. with the student discount it came out to $700. and with the 10%off additional discount for watching AI video, it brought it down to $630 for the 65 inch. keep checking everyday. hope you score one too!

I ordered mine this morning. Wish I could do EPP but my role was eliminated and access is dicey to put it nicely. I think I saw a deal around $700 with a soundbar but it was gone by the time I came back that same day to buy it. Maybe it was superbowl weekend?
