Beyond Braid is a budget braided fishing line that stands out for its low price per yard and strong value in 8 pound, 50 pound, and 300 yard spools. The line gets praise for casting well and lasting a long time, with some comparing its durability to premium braids that cost much more. The Bahama Blue color is not universally preferred, and cheaper braid can bring inconsistent quality, faster wear, and more wind knots or breakage. A solid option when price matters and the spool size fits your setup.

  • The 50 lb and 8 lb variants have reportedly been purchased at the same $9.99 price point, making the upgrade feel straightforward.

    tstarksDale-IIC

  • The line has reportedly worked well for long-term use, with some users getting five to ten years out of it.

    bgorman214

  • The line has reportedly performed amazingly for users who already rely on 50 lb braided line.

    FaithfulLaborer396

  • The $10 per 300 yd price has been described as a top budget threshold, which makes this option appealing for cost-conscious spooling.

    mozillafirefix

  • Cheaper braided lines can reportedly show inconsistent quality, including color bleeding, thicker-than-claimed diameter, and unexpected breakage.

    PurpleHorn832

  • Cheaper braided lines can reportedly increase wind knots and bird nests, which can lead to lost fish or lures.

    PurpleHorn832

  • The 150/300 yd spool format can reportedly leave remnant line, and a knot on a fresh spool can limit castability or force discarding leftovers.

    mozillafirefix

  • Review browsing can reportedly be blocked or seller-limited, which can prevent checking 1-star complaints before buying.

Daiwa grand 8x is awesome - but its about $30 for an equivalent test/yds. Nice price on this one so I guess its worth giving it a try. Has anyone tried the 8lb of this one?
I typically buy bulk 1500+ yd rolls, they lasted me several years per roll. when in promotion, their price per yard is very competitive to even the budget brands. A problem with the 150/300 yd refill rolls is that, you can easily get dozens yards of remnant line after one or two spools, then you'll have to deal with either a knot in the freshly new spool (limits castability and risk of losing the fish of lifetime) or just discard it (waste of money)

Typically on new items I browse the 1-star reviews, lately Amazon has been blocking my ability to browse those reviews, click the 1-star and it shows me the 5 star and then no ability to click any of the sorted reviews. On another item it said seller limited who can see reviews, so they are getting pretty seller friendly here and giving us the finger, was going to try the 50# since it is pretty thin and easy to cast and why go less, but sold out... then if cannot see the 1-star to see why they did not like, not risking it.

Problems with cheaper brand braids are inconsistent quality, manufacturing defects, faster degradation, color bleeding, thicker than the claimed diameter and unexpected breakage. If you fish occasionally, then you could get a budget braid and if it works then great. But the chances of losing fish, expensive lures etc will go up. You may also get wind knots, birds nests more as cheaper braids are less forgiving for the user errors. In the end potential frustration you have to deal with will ruin your fun and fishing experience and it's not worth saving the $10. Quality braids will also last longer so you don't need to spend money again replacing old lines. Nothing against this deal but my $0.02 on braided lines.
I have to agree. I'm very loyal to power pro and have been for 30 years. You probably are going to laugh but I've had power pro line out last the reel. 5+ year old reel breaks - I buy a new reel and move the line (just rotate it). This stuff is indestructible. Can get 10 years out of it.

With all that being said - I might try this for my garbage kid reels.
