Edit: after further research, Arpha has a Taiwanese branch that sells many high quality smart locks made in Taiwan, but this lock is not one of them and is made in China with lower quality.
I know it's getting paid promotion and pushed by Paid SD Staff Influencer, but these numbers are crazy.
Seller is in China, not Taiwan.

The whole vague stealth aspect of these affiliate relationships is so sketchy.

That page distinguishes between "Deal Hunters" & "Deal Specialists"
Deal Specialists review deals submitted to us, while Deal Hunters go out and independently find deals across the web.
But I have never seen a deal posted by a "Deal Specialist" - where are those?
This particular thread is posted by an account labeled as a "Deal Hunter"...but it's also "promoted". So how did that work? Supposedly the OP found the deal organically, but also the company is paying Slickdeals?
The page you linked also claims "It's never pay-to-play"...then what exactly are "Promoted" deals?

...but on this post alone, Slickdeals Staffers have appeared twice just to bump the thread and write it's still available. That never happens on non-promoted posts. If anyone else were to do that it would be seen as algorithm gaming. It's definitely not in line with the claim that "Our staff are Slickdeals users too and do organically engage with the community." It also makes me wonder how many staffers are "organically" Thumbing Up these posts...
On the note of "Staff Accounts" are there non "Staff" accounts that coordinate with Slickdeals to post affiliate offers or get compensated for their posts? I am personally aware there was a "rewards" program piloted that was intentionally hidden from public view- is that still going on?
Edit: I see "Promoted" is no longer showing on this thread but I'm quite confident it was there previously. Can you confirm this thread was "Promoted" - and if so...why has that been removed?
