Yes, this does work, but it is very flimsy, the base petals break easily, and the alumium burner assembly is made of thin soft metal so it bends very easily, even if it is just in my backpack with things that aren't very heavy and my backpack isn't packed tight enough to cause significant compression forces. Just get a Coleman version which is still not super strong but it is at least quite a bit better than this one. Camping stoves are one thing I don't want to cheap out on as it is pretty important that it works safely and is built well or it could be dangerous. Same with climbing gear. If this was an inflatable sleeping pad or pillow then I wouldn't mind trying a cheap one as long as it works half-way decent since those don't pose a serious threat if they fail.
