Sapphire glass, so the face of the watch will be very resistant to scratches. The integrated steel bracelet is pretty good too. Also has a Swiss quartz movement, so you're getting a lot for the money.
The problem is likely that they made a lot of these, but the market did't love the digital display. They were intended to be sold in the ~$395 price range and what you're seeing is the closeout price.
Love the sapphire glass but wish it had the same functional display as the $25 Casio F91 which has a scratch magnet face and crappy looking plastic case/bracelet.

I don't have any ladies. I don't wear this watch. Perhaps there is a correlation.
