The Edition XS is a large open back planar headphone that stands out for huge soundstage, strong detail, and sub bass that feels well above the price. It also responds well to EQ and sounds better from a decent DAC and amp, though it can still play from weaker sources at lower expectations. The main tradeoff is fit, since the loose clamp and oversized headband can slide around without a comfort strap, and the treble can run bright for some. Refurb units have arrived like new, but a few have shown packaging gaps or driver issues.
Common Questions (5)
They are very large, light, and have little clamping force, so they can slip off smaller or normal-sized heads. A Capra strap or similar top strap is a common fix, while people with larger heads report a better fit.
Many arrive looking like new and sounding excellent, but packaging can be minimal and some units have issues such as loose earcups, missing foam inserts, hinge squeaks, rattles, or even a dead driver. Testing the full frequency range on arrival is important because defects may only show up in bass-heavy tones.
It can play directly from a source, but it sounds fuller and more dynamic with an amp or DAC/amp. Several setups mentioned as working well include an Apple dongle, FiiO K5/K11, Qudelix 5K, Atom amp, and Topping D30 + Atom; weak motherboard audio can sound subdued.
It has a huge soundstage and strong detail, which works well for single-player and story games, but the presentation is very wide and front imaging can feel weak. That makes it better for music and immersive gaming than for convincing frontal sound in movies or competitive play.
The deal price can land around the mid-$80s to low-$90s after coupons, but some codes only work above certain cart totals. Reported totals include $81 before tax with a $12-off coupon, $89.41 after a $20-off code, and about $96.10 with a $12 coupon.

A couple of things to note. These are big headphones and an egg shape not round. Also the headband it funky. It is highly recommended to get a Capra Strap to help with the comfort. You can also 3D print the same strap if you don't want to buy it.
Edit: Was able to re-add it to cart and use a different code.
Edit: I had to use mobile to apply the coupon code.

Or if you have a 3d printer that can handle TPU filament you can print your own strap.

I've used the Hifiman HE400I, Sundara, and now these. And they've all been great.
