The Edition XS is a large open back planar headphone that stands out for huge soundstage, strong detail, and sub bass that feels well above the price. It also responds well to EQ and sounds better from a decent DAC and amp, though it can still play from weaker sources at lower expectations. The main tradeoff is fit, since the loose clamp and oversized headband can slide around without a comfort strap, and the treble can run bright for some. Refurb units have arrived like new, but a few have shown packaging gaps or driver issues.
The headphones can sound good with or without an amp, while amping can improve performance.
The Edition XS can be driven from portable setups like a Qudelix, which helps with portability and EQ.
Refurb units can arrive in like-new or brand-new looking condition while still sounding excellent.
The Edition XS can deliver punchy sub-bass and a huge soundstage for music listening.
The Edition XS can have very light clamping force and may slip off normal-sized heads.
The headphones can require a comfort strap like a Capra strap to improve fitment and pressure.
The Edition XS may not provide convincing front imaging and can feel stretched left and right for some use cases.
Some refurb units can show audio defects such as right-speaker rattle at 20Hz or a left driver failure.

How did you get $91? It's $104 - $12 = $92 + tax now so i'm wondering.
Thanks.
Previously, these were 170+ from HIFIMAN direct for a refurb. I've always wanted to try planar headphones and so far have had several Sennheisers. ~100$ w tax is good enough for me, especially since the item is from HIFIMAN, shipping from New Jersey.
The sound quality is great and absolutely amazing at this price point. Like other have said, though, the headphone is kind of loose on the head even though my head is fairly large.
Coming from a he400se user these headphones are legit. The sound stage is huge and they do awesome with gaming. So much so my son stole them for gaming and was amazed.
For those worried about the pad you can buy, or 3d print a 'comfort' strap that will help with pressure on your head.
This is an extremely good buy for mid $80.

But heads up to anyone that bought it to test it out at the full range of frequencies.
