Try Mayorga organic Cubano roast. We love it when it goes on sale from time to time. Conventional coffee has a lot of pesticides on it. If you don't like it, Costco has a no questions asked return policy. And I agree with the other post, Starbucks is horrible.
Lavazza Cafe Espress whole bean coffee is a budget Italian style espresso option that can work well for lattes and other espresso drinks when dialed in correctly. The beans are described as a medium to dark medium roast with plenty of flavor, and the whole bean version gets praise as a strong value at Costco pricing. It may need a finer grind, careful extraction, and good puck prep, and the oily beans can clog a grinder. The taste also lands below favorite Starbucks, Kirkland, and some local roasts for some palates, especially if expecting a darker roast.
Espresso drinkers who like a medium roast with Italian-style flavor, because it can pull a flavorful shot when dialed in with a finer grind and quick extraction.
Dark-roast drinkers expecting a bold Starbucks-style profile, because this coffee is described as medium roast and can taste disappointing beside darker beans.
It can work well for lattes and espresso, but it may need a finer grind and careful extraction. A quick shot with short infusion, proper puck prep, and dialed-in grinder settings helps avoid harsh flavors and improves results.
At $10.99 to $12 for a 2.2 lb bag, it is a strong value for shoppers who like this style of Italian coffee. Some buyers bought multiple bags because coffee prices have risen and they expect it to last a while.
It is described as a medium roast, closer to Pike Place or Breakfast Blend than a true dark roast. That matters because it can taste lighter than expected if you usually buy Starbucks espresso beans or other dark roasts.
The beans can look oily, and that can clog some grinders if you are expecting a drier medium roast. Storing them in the fridge reportedly reduces the surface oiliness, and a finer grind may be needed for good extraction.
Starting 8/24 Mayorga coffee will be $5 off (flyer scans in other post).
It's actually a different blend from Mayorga than the Cubano roast that is on sale and I believe it's medium rather than dark. But the Cubano roast is one that I always grab when it's on sale. I switch between Peet's, Starbucks, Mayorga, and try out whatever is on sale in between so that my tastebuds don't get "used to" a particular blend.
Costco in warehouse on sale $10.99. Great deal. Some of the best whole bean coffee I have tried more recently. I have been disappointed by Lavazza ground coffee offerings in the past.

I like Lavazza in general but to me this was mediocre. The Kirkland Colombian is way better.
I'm new to Costco so I'll check it out.. I don't like crowds so paying $3 extra is optional for delivery under $75. I've always wanted their TV deals but also stocking up on essentials.

Seriously? imo, Starbucks coffee is the worst by far and not suitable for human consumption.
I've purchased three variants of this Lavazza coffee and have not liked a single one. I find it very inferior coffee. It seems to be a marketing play by someone making an Italian sounding name but fulfilling it with marginal beans and knowing the unwashed masses will think it's great. Costco doesn't care because it hits the price point and margin requirements. Their SF coffee French roast 3# for around $17 is a much more enjoyable coffee those that are a step or two above the standard Costco riff raff.

This whole-bean Lavazza can work well for lattes when brewed with a finer grind and a short infusion.
This coffee can be stored in the fridge to reduce oiliness before grinding and brewing.
Costco's no-questions-asked return policy can act as a safety net if the flavor does not match expectations.
Proper espresso extraction technique can turn this coffee into a noticeably better espresso experience.
Some experiences describe the coffee as mediocre or inferior compared with other Costco options like Kirkland Colombian or SF Coffee French roast.
The espresso flavor can disappoint, especially for people who prefer dark-roast Starbucks espresso beans.
Dialing in this coffee for espresso can be technical, requiring grinder adjustments and careful shot parameters.
Oily-looking beans may clog a grinder, which can create extra maintenance during espresso setup.
