With the ongoing ram shortage and Nvidia GPU price increases, it's much less common to see prebuilts like this under $1500, brand new.

This is not the best deal, but times have changed, and now it's certainly a great price for what it offers Smilie

These are refurbished and have the 14th gen i7s which were known to have widespread degradation issues. I would be very careful about buying these. Do cpu stress testing and make sure to immediately update the BIOS and chipset drivers.

Its a decent PC, no disputing that. I landed a BB open box Corsair Vengeance with a 13600kf and a 4070 a little under 2 years ago for $300 I kid you not. Deal of the century. It would have been about $1300 new. Yeah, times have changed.

If you didn't have Believe in your user name, I wouldn't believe you. Some one at BB had no idea what they were doing, congratulations.

It was actually supposed to be a 3070 but one of the geek squad guys must have found the GPU was toast. They were probably out of 3070s, so he just threw a 4070 in there. When I got it home the GPU wasn't attached, it was just dangling by the power cord on the floor of the case. My heart sank. When I looked closer I noticed it was a 4070. Hooked the thing up and it worked. Been a solid PC ever since. you can't make this stuff up haha. BB used to have some great deals on open box PCs if you caught them early in the morning on the website. Those deals are no more I'm afraid. Haven't seen one since them days in late 2024.

Anyone know any details on the video card? 2 fan or 3? (Looks like only 2) Is it a quality card or PNY crap?

Also a FYI, PowerSpec is now using PNY cards. Frown

I would not be inclined to do intel 13/14 gen at this point, even if there is some cost penalty due to the reliability issues. The 13/14 parts that have <600 on their last 3 digits are the safe 12th gen alder lake die that have been relabeled, but that's not the case here.

BEWARE!! Just got this yesterday, out of the box if was updates to latest drivers(bios, chipsets, video, etc.). 2 problems:

1: Random black screen, sometimes lasts 3-5 seconds then back to desktop, other times requires recycling power.

2. Sound crackles/pops when output to high def audio thru hdmi.

Both issues are known(Acer boards/reddit) and have all kind of suggestions(no solid fix).

Wasted a whole day, installin/reinstalling drivers/windows changing settings to no avail.

I didn't spend $1400 to go through this hassle

Update: Found a bios fix that resolved both my issues, I really shouldn't need to be messing with bios settings on a new pc. But, glad that it worked.

Yes I would take caution when buying any Acer Refurbished product.

They are a hit or miss when it comes to quality. However they do have a 30 day return window, and 2 year warranty guarantee. I personally received a defected monitor but they made it easy to get my money back. Still some items come without any problems.
Something for buyers to take note.

I purchased this at about $100 higher last week. It uses all off the shelf parts, thermaltake 850w psu, thermaltake cpu heatsink, gigabyte 760m motherboard, gigabyte windforce sff rtx 5070, corsair rgb ddr5 ram, kingston pcie 4 nvme ssd.

The unit I received looked like it was lightly used rather than "refurbished". One of the feet was broken and the wifi antennae plug slightly bent but everything in working order. Stress benched and everything is working fine.

The only issue is the motherboard. Its crap and has acer locked bios problems. I'm having difficulty updating the bios because you have to use acer's tweaked version of gigabyte's bios, which keeps coming up as a mismatch error when trying to flash it. Also this is a pcie 4.0 motherboard, the 5070 is a pcie 5 graphics card, it won't ever run at its full potential.

If you buy a cheap z790 mobo to replace it, it'll cost about $100 which makes it still a good deal considering current ram and ssd prices. Don't listen to the haters, I've built at least 6 pcs with the 14700 for gaming and workstation use, its fine as long its updated to a bios from 2025 or later, unit I received was updated to F5c. The cpu is excellent, it runs faster or on par in single and multithread vs current amd and intel flagship cpus.
