I've used many rechargeable batteries over the years, Energizer, Amazon basics, etc. These Eneloops are the only ones that leaked. They were in my son's Lego train for 3 months and all 4 batteries leaked.

Sounds like you might have had fakes or maybe they were overcharged by a bad/wrong charger. Or the train had shorted the batteries somehow leading to a really fast discharge? Very rare for Ni-MH batteries to leak, and especially genuine Japanese made Eneloops.

They were from Costco and came with a charger.

I've always stuck with IKEAs version. As they can be cheaper than this but also just as good. Except nowadays I see they are different than before and have two different versions now. I haven't looked into new batteries in years as I haven't needed anymore until now. Everything runs on AAA now and I don't have enough.

I don't know why people kept praising Ikea LADDA batteries. They aren't really cheaper than eneloops when purchased on sale.

Been using the AA's for about a year in some pretty hot places and have had zero problems with 16 of them.

Well, not having to wait for a sale for basically the same thing is one reason they would get praise.

Just because they are made in the same factory doesn't mean they're the same thing and most people don't live close to Ikea.
I'd also imagine most Slickdealers have no problem waiting for deals and setting up deal alerts.
