I have replaced them for my wife's and my kid's too, lol they had no idea why their mouses behaved so weirdly, they didn't know it was a fast double click or drop off when dragging.
So i have replaced 4 of the left switches so far. buy japanese switches if you can. i'm 100% certain you will need to replace the switches or for some, throwthe whole mouse away which is a waste.

I have two of these, one at work and one at home. I've used them for almost two years now and haven't had any issues with either one.
the annoying part is the feet not going to be in good shape (still works) after i take those sticker feet out to remove the screws. i bought some cheap glides make it look better again. so i think you should really take it slow and reserve the mouse feet condition if you do it.
also another option is they sell the swappable left/right pcb boards that you can solder in, then later you would just easily plug/unplug switch instead of solder everytime.
