Unless you live in a perpetually cool environment, having a battery in a hot, enclosed space is a bad idea. Cars get very hot.

A newer chemistry battery like a lithium iron phosphate will be stable up to over 400 degrees F, but this is undoubtedly a lithium ion cell that can catastrophically rupture and explode/burn at lower temperatures. Don't stash this in a hot car
