Always the best. Why is Hollywood not making those movies anymore?

Because New Zealand just does it so good.

A heads-up... I'm not seeing the featurettes in my Prime Video app.

The good news is it's Movies Anywhere & I am seeing them in my Fandango app.

This links to the Fellowship extended version only, I don't see the bundle.

The actual bundle landing page shows $29.99*. Amazon often has different prices for the same item accessed from different ways. I know my way works because that's where I got it.

See HBO blah blah?
Then - movie price?
Then - bundle price ?
Then - more ways to watch...?

Bundle price shows $14.99. But if you click on "more ways to watch" you can see where it actually spells out everything.

*Edit: Amazon apparently fixed that overnight & mods updated with direct link whenever they made deal FP.

I kind of liked it better the other way though. Felt like SD'ers found a "secret" sale almost.

Aren't these the same movies that were pulled on Google?

Thanks! I had to sign out to see the price listed, because I already owned the set in 4k!😅 I thought I only owned it in HD.

If you watch all the special features, this trilogy was a passion project for many involved. When you have an awesome story, awesome actors, an awesome director and crew that don't try to modify the story, spectacular music, spectacular scenery, and all the exquisite detail that they put into the sets, costumes, weapons, masks, practical and visual effects.... Chefs kiss

This is a once in a generation series IMHO.

Thinking eventually Amazon will remove the original series and only allow The Rings of Power

I had about $10.xx in digital credit. The invoice shows $14.99 plus tax taken from the gift card, but none of it was deducted from my gift card balance. And my digital credit is down to $0.26 after the purchase. I have no idea what Amazon did, and I don't understand why they make it so confusing! Am I missing something here?

Sad/sobering fact: LOTR is older today than the first Star Wars was when LOTR came out...

Always an excellent addition to the collection if you somehow don't have it already.

I have cousins that are 20 years my junior and they're into the bands I used to listen to in high school that were new at the time.

That's the equivalent of me being into early 80s music around 2003. Crazy stuff but I'm glad they like good music imo.

I'm cautious about digital only purchases now. Great price. But do you own it? Will Amazon make it disappear as Sony did with over 500 movies people paid money to "own"?

I just found out my Fellowship extended DVDs (all for) are unplayable due to disc rot (they still look like they're in excellent condition). Something about the batch of DVDs released in 2005-ish being poorly made.My head is spinning at all the mastering problems. Do I get the horrible green tint BluRay/HD release, which also has lower dynamic range in the highlights and duller color due to the info all being shifted to the green channel? Or get the HDR 4K remasters, which actually were made from the green HD version with the same blown highlights issue, actually LESS detail than the 1080p version because of aggressive noise reduction and introducing digital artifacts, but at least the green cast has been improved to a better white balance? Has there been another, better remaster since 2020? Is it time to find a fan edit that actually did it better?!I don't know, the whole situation makes me sad. These movies are important to me in a way that nothing since has measured up.
