Ryobi's 12Ah ONE+ EDGE battery is a high capacity pack aimed at demanding brushless tools, with tabless cells and claims of more power and cooler running than standard High Performance batteries. It stands out for heavy tools like circular saws, blowers, vacuums, angle grinders, and pruning chainsaws, while also being handy for fans and lights. The tradeoff is size and weight, since the pack is bulky enough to feel like arm workout material. Clearance pricing also appears highly store specific, with some locations scanning full price and others ringing up at $135.
People running newer brushless Ryobi tools, because EDGE batteries are meant to push extra amperage for demanding tools that can use it.
Gardeners using a pruning chainsaw, because the battery has been bought for an 8-inch pruning saw and offers long runtime capacity.
Homeowners powering fans and lights, because the battery is described as a good fit for low-drain accessories.
Users of heavy-duty cutting and grinding tools, because the battery can deliver up to 30% more power on demanding brushless tools.
People wanting a lighter handheld setup, because the 12Ah pack is heavy and can make a power tool feel like an arm workout.
Shoppers expecting every tool to benefit, because standard drills, fans, and non-HP tools do not gain much from EDGE power.
Buyers who need easy portability, because the 12Ah battery is heavy enough to be used like a dumbbell.
Anyone relying on in-store pickup, because clearance items cannot be added for pickup and are in store only.
