Ryobi's 12Ah ONE+ EDGE battery is a high capacity pack aimed at demanding brushless tools, with tabless cells and claims of more power and cooler running than standard High Performance batteries. It stands out for heavy tools like circular saws, blowers, vacuums, angle grinders, and pruning chainsaws, while also being handy for fans and lights. The tradeoff is size and weight, since the pack is bulky enough to feel like arm workout material. Clearance pricing also appears highly store specific, with some locations scanning full price and others ringing up at $135.
EDGE batteries are designed to push more amperage for tools wired to use the extra power.
EDGE batteries can deliver up to 30% more power on demanding HP/Whisper/brushless tools.
Lithium packs reportedly show strong longevity, with no lithium pack failures across many years of use.
Some shoppers were able to ring the 12Ah battery up at the clearance price in-store.
Clearance pricing appears store-specific and may be missing at many locations.
Clearance items reportedly cannot be added for pickup and are in-store only.
Some locations show the battery as in-stock but it scans at regular price instead of being discounted.
The 12Ah battery is heavy enough to make using it on a power tool feel like extra arm work.
