What is the 'creamifit' setting? Anyone own this and the older model, is this materially better?

I just picked this up at Costco for $199 with 3 tubs.

I honestly wasn't sure what to think, I wanted to find a way to get some high protein, low fat snacks in after a workout. I am blown away with how well this thing works and how legit good the ice cream is that comes out of it. Super simple recipes, my go to is a simple cookies and cream and I can't put it down. Macros are fantastic, texture is honestly better than ice cream to me and it's healthy.

I'd happily buy this again.

CreamiFit is a longer program that is supposed to work well for ultra low fat high protein recipes.

I made two identical recipes, yesterday I used the CreamiFit setting. It ran for I believe 6 minutes. It came out ultra smooth but honestly it felt a little over processed. Today I tried the Light Ice Cream setting, it took a respin but after that it was perfect. The CreamiFit seems to run longer and considerably faster than the light setting FWIW.

Yeah, just seems to be the replacement for the deluxe. Essentially the same thing with a new look and couple tweaks. Same pints.

I make high protein ice cream with no sugar added (Fairlife or Aldi ultra filtered high protein milk and monk fruit with allulose). Sometimes I use sugar free chocolate or pistachio pudding mix.

Looks pretty nice. I wonder if they upgraded it so it spins better like the original

It's absolutely insane how these units have gone up in price significantly from just a year ago.

It's in-store only possibly. Item Number is 3603484 per the app.

We own the Creami Swirl version. I think we paid ~$200 for it when it was on sale earlier this year. Overpriced if you don't use it regularly. My kids love it and use it maybe once a week at most. But we bought some generic containers on Amazon, so now have 5 or 6 pints we can prep ahead of time. Then just spin or re-spin as needed. It will take a lot of ice cream to break even, but I do like the fact that we can customize stuff and even make good froyo in it.

I'm definitely considering getting this and returning or selling my swirl version. My biggest complaint with swirl is the soft serve dispenser side seems gimmicky. The original containers are small enough that you almost always run out halfway through a third kids cone. Then waiting to re-spin another container takes all the thrill out of the experience. 50% larger container, with smaller actual machine footprint (since the swirl is so big just for the short period of time you push out ice cream), and I'm happy to just scoop into cones and save the "swirl" soft serve for the ice cream shops.

Thinking about doing this and paying for the 4 year insurance plan. Is this XL version built better than the Deluxe version? I went through two of them off of Woot, with both breaking down relatively quickly and having to throw them out due to short/no warranty. I was using mine every day for low fat low sugar protein recipes, which may have strained it more even though I was doing the 10 minute defrost routine, but that's the main reason I have a Creami.

I'm not a part of the "Protein Cult" so can't answer how good it is in dealing with any of that. Still, I needed to move towards being more conscience of what I put into my body and I received the Creami Deluxe as a Xmas gift last year. It really is awesome for making ice cream, sorbet, and italian ice.

Usually have four "pints", ready in the freezer, to spin up at any point. The half-pint feature where it only will spin up the top (or bottom) half of the pint to eat at a time is perfect for splitting between my wife and me.

There's a little bit of a learning curve with perfecting your recipes and choosing the mode but once you got it down (happened fairly quickly for me) it's really great.

Note: For ease of use, I prep recipe in the pint container and use an immersion blender to break down/mix everything together before freezing. I freeze for a few hours before adding the lid which minimizes the hump that can form on top.
