They might sound ok but 500w is a ridiculous number. They're probably close to 20 watts. The speakers use a tiny 12v 2 amp wall wart style power adaptor to power both speakers, so there's only 24 watts total power going in. You can't output 20 times more power than is going it. Power doesn't work that way.

Someone posted a review that they opened up one of these and found the amplifier is rated for 15w. I'm not even sure how they can say these are 250w RMS. Just straight up false advertising.
