Read one star reviews. I'll paste one. Sum up many saying the thickness is a problem trying to get the thermal pads on it and install screws that strip out and LOW quality screwdriver included strips them also. One review: I'm using a dell 3847 inspiron which is gen 2 pcie speed. The sabrent nvme adapter on the x16 slot only gives about 375 MB/s read and write. I have since removed this adapter and replaced it with a startech usb 3.2 gen 2x2 adapter for external usb instead and I get around 1500MB/s read and write. pcie 2 x16 is 8GB/s. The sabrent is supposedly x4 so divide 16 by 4 to get 2GB/s. This works with the startech which is also x4. Not getting 2GB/s but 1.5GB/s is good, getting 75% of top theoretical speed is good. I give it one star for use on a gen 2 computer. I don't know how well it does on a gen 3.

I bought a few of these a year or two ago to use to replace customer hard mechanical hard drives. Worked fine for that.

got this 2 years ago for around the same price. has worked flawlessly, no bluescreens, no issues ever. my board is only pcie 3.0 capable on the 2 slots available, so it maxes out a little over 1GB/s. it's still quite fast transferring to and from motherboard NVME. my drives a re 4TB Seagate Firecuda and a 4TB Samsung 990 Evo Plus.
