Seems like an OK deal since apparently for liek a year now this has gone on sale around this price range pretty often. My only worry is online soem reviews people really didn't like this monitor and even returned it. Was wondering if anyone here has this monitor and what they think of it?

LG has controversy about forcing programs onto windows computers, may have been corrected by now. Still worth factoring in, this same brand is ok with shady practices and may find a new way to exploit its end users in the future.

Picked this monitor up open box excellent at Best Buy for $390, they seem to be selling their display monitors at the moment. I like it a lot, took a while to play with the settings but the colors are fantastic and I have had no issues yet.

I own it and it's been one of the best upgrades to my gaming setup I've ever made. Very high quality stand, ambient lighting is customizable and subtle, the colors pop, the blacks are inky, and anti-glare is subtle but effective.

Couple of gripes: the anti-burn-in tech leaves a larger gap around the edge of the screen, and the menus aren't the easiest to navigate - although much better than some other brands I've used.

Doesn't look like to be fixed but can be disabled through group policy for those interested on buying and has a windows machine.

"Open the Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc), navigate to Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → System → Device Installation, and enable "Prevent automatic download of applications associated with device metadata.""

My knowledge on the matter isnt the most up to date, if my memory serves me right, windows supposedly frowned on the matter (ironically). Dont remember if they demanded a course correction, didn't dig to deep into the matter. End of the day scummy move from LG and Im glad I never commited to their $1400 monitor.

Is 480hz is fast enough that I can turn off VRR to avoid the flicker issue entirely and still not see screen tearing?

if you get an open box from best buy, check for burn in. ive seen a lot of people complain about buying an open box that had very noticeable burn in

I have an RTX 5080 pc and currently play at 144hz. I'll be honest that my eyes literally can't tell the difference between 120/144/240/360hz. Is there a practical use/need for 480hz?

I really don't think so. It's only for those "highly competitive" ranked CSGO players. Feels like diminishing returns. There's no way it makes that big a difference even in the competitive scene. That's just my opinion.

4k 32" OLED MSI (Factory Refurbished) at Woot right now. Makes this deal kind of a non-starter. 1440p is a huge step down.
