Only risk is Apple discontinuing support earlier, but it is still very performant
I have a Mac Studio M4, M1 Air and M5 Air. The M1 Air is still very competitive for day to day use.
Imagine getting a beat-up kids laptop, after six years of use, with zero actual refurbishment (wipe down and power test is all they do). And then having only 128gb of storage. Hmm.
