I own two of these and they're great controllers, really nice build quality for the price. But I'm confused why the link posted has a different ASIN than the ones I bought. I can't seem to see a difference between the two other than amazon being the seller vs 8bitdo being the seller.
Been eyeing this or the regular Ultimate 2, anyone have recommendations on which to grab?
Honestly I think most people can get away with the 2C. It charges over USB C and has decent battery. It can also be used plugged in but I rarely do. I did not want the paddles on the back of the controller and have had 0 problems remapping controls in game. I think for around half the price its fantastic.

There isn't really much of a difference unless you need paddles, in which case the 2c doesn't have them. IMO they both have the same build quality otherwise.
*If you abuse the coin deals you might be able to score $14-16 checking daily for a larger than normal discount. Thats assuming you have the time and are farming coins. Thats what I did month ago.
TLDR: great controller but wish it had back buttons. Works perfectly on PC and Android.
This bundles in two thumbstick caps. 8bitdo has had these parallel listings for quite a while. Although some might care about the caps, this mostly seems to exist to play pricing games.
Interestingly, the wired version of this controller without bundled caps is completely gone from Amazon ... clicking on a past order takes you to an error page. And the page for this controller without the caps is introducing new colors.

It's actually true, but it's frustrating to have it posted as a reason not to get this. The AliExpress deals are so hit and miss. I got a gamesir controller for $5, but many people in the same thread couldn't. I'd rather just pay the reasonable price and get it quicker anyway and not have to deal with a gamified Chinese shopping app.

However like I stated (unless you can show evidence otherwise....), the $10 Ultimate 2C deals, especially the Dongle version are a thing of the past. Trust me, I'm darn near a PhD at sourcing controllers and retro handhelds at a massive discount via AE. That being said, if you got secrets and can make me eat my words....do share because I love to be wrong, especially if it allows me to save more $$$.
*Unless you are farming coins...as I alluded to. Currently you can score a $9 non-dongle version (see Reddit sub first post) but only if you have been collecting coins for roughly 29 days without missing a day ($11.50 coin discount @ 0.40 coins collected per day.

My other two purchases: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D72TNXSC
This post: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D6BGS5TH
Due to the weak dollar and the tariffs those days are long done.
FWIW, current major AE sale going on right now, even with coupons you'd be lucky to buy this for $20.
For example (note, same WINDOWS version, BT switch version can be found a few dollars cleaper)
$25 https://www.aliexpress.
$22 for the black one https://www.aliexpress.

P.S. I remixed this 3D printed dongle holder to work with the USB A style. https://www.printables.
