This isn't for gaming or AI workloads, but ideal for low hassle grandparent's computer, shared web browsing terminal, or even light server duty.
Community Reviews
This ThinkCentre M75Q G2 Micro stands out as a compact, enterprise-grade Ryzen 5 PRO box that fits home lab, light server, and everyday desktop use. The AMD Pro chip adds DASH out of band management for remote power, BIOS access, and reimaging, and the platform is described as having strong driver support and solid long term reliability. It also has two dual channel SODIMM slots and can take up to 64GB DDR4 3200, with ECC support suggested. The main limits are that it is not meant for gaming or AI workloads, and 16GB may feel tight for heavier lab setups. A practical small form factor pick with useful remote management.
Common Questions (4)
Yes, the AMD Pro CPU supports DASH out-of-band management, which can provide remote power control, BIOS access, and reimaging without physical access. That is especially useful if the machine sits in a closet, basement, or other hard-to-reach spot.
Yes, the Ryzen 5 PRO 5650GE and ThinkCentre Tiny platform are well suited to low-hassle homelab use, shared browsing, and light server duty. The system is also described as a strong value versus newer small-form-factor PCs, especially when DDR4-based systems are still viable.
It has two dual-channel-capable SODIMM slots and can support up to 64GB of DDR4-3200. That makes the 16GB config easy to upgrade later if you need more memory for a lab or heavier multitasking.
For many users, yes: 16GB can handle heavy browser use, including 30+ Brave tabs plus several Firefox tabs, while staying around 11-12GB used. Chrome is the bigger memory hog, so browser choice matters.

For home labs this is huge, as you can remote power, access bios, and reimage the machine without physical access

And while this is a excellent form factor and spec/price point for a homelab, I think something like a M70q with 12500t can be had for this price and edges it out because it has better transcoding for media server usage, as well as slightly lower idle power usage.
Still either would be a great option - significantly better than a more common retail option like a n100 box. And absolutely DESTROYS SBCs like rpi 5

(I have the SFF variant M75s with 5650G, and i can confirm ECC UDIMM DDR4 RAM works)
(Zen 3 APU with ECC support isn't easy to get, since the non-PRO variants' iGPU doesn't support ECC despite its CPU technically does)
Glad I snagged mine when DDR4 and SSDs tanked. My 6th to 8th gen intels aren't the fastest CPUs out there, but with 32GB of RAM and 1-2 TB SSDs they can run a lot of services for the home without breaking a sweat.
