Don't really need it... but it's so tempting. That 8Ah is like $50 on its own when on sale right? so $100 for a cool tool that I'll use once a year and have no space for, hard choice.

I want it so bad, but I have absolutely no justification what so ever - Especially when I have a corded band saw in the tool shed that hasn't seen love in years.

They have all kinds of deals which pop up on some of their cheaper tools and flashlights which often come with the tool, a charger, and a smaller 2.0 ah battery. It's usually around $70-100. Sometimes it's like a flashlight or one of their smaller impacts. I got their larger impact about a year ago with a battery and charger for $100. That was like a one day thing and was lucky enough to spot it. This was the one I grabbed. It's on sale for $130 now (if that sale is still going) which isn't too bad of a deal. Also believe I saw their fast charger for $30 on here the other day. Just search for "kobalt 24v" in the search bar and you'll see a lot of the current deals.

No, this battery usually goes for much more than that (I believe you're thinking of the 4.0 ah one). This battery alone is on sale for $80 right now which is a pretty good deal. I'm not so sure how great these high output batteries are compared to the regular ones. There seems to be a lot of recent reviews saying they die after a year or two, but not sure if the issue is just with the 4 ah one and not the 8ah one. 🤷

Well, I just stopped and picked this up today but the battery is dated 07-23. Haven't opened anything yet but thinking of returning it. Does Lowes allow you to just return the battery and split the difference or whatever or do I have to return the whole thing? I believe the online receipt showed two different values for each item (as in it had a $ value for the Porta band and a $ value for the battery - don't believe it showed as "free").
Edit: Yes, it's shows $82.64 for the saw and $66.16 for the battery. If they give me $66 back for the battery I'll be more than happy because the cheapest I've seen the saw go for was $100 and that was a long time ago.
Edit 2: I was able to get to Lowes this afternoon and they took back just the battery with no issues. If I had more time and if I cared more about it, I would've tried to exchange the one I got for a newer one but something tells me what they had would've probably been old stock also. Would've been nice to have a 8Ah battery though.
