I have this. For $100 bucks it's semi-useful, but realistically it's kind of shit and not quite rigid enough to be "good."

Issue is the 'spindle' motor isn't really a spindle and doesn't have a bearing holding the collet straight. If there is a good motor/collet assembly swap, I haven't found it.

I bought it when it was on discount at MP. I totally suggest not to buy it unless you want to do most things manually and you will only work with soft materials. Since it is a very "intro" level CNC router, it lacks: x-stop, y-stop, z-stop. It doesn't have the z-sensor, so you have to calibrate every start. You need to spend another $100 on the missing parts to find out the spindle is not fast enough. Finally, the construction is very light, so when the bit touches the material, it vibrates too much. You will end up destroying some bits. After having this on, I ended up getting a Makera Z1, and I refactored it as a laser engraver; the board can be used for that (But you need to buy and calibrate a laser head). In that part, the board is very good and expandable and compatible with any GRLb software (Mac, Linux, or Windows).

Can you use this to make carbide drill bits?
