I'm assuming you're referring to the newer watches? I bought a Fenix 6 new for $650 that I've worn 24/7 for over 6 years and it is still completely flawless zero issues, zero scratches, battery lasts just about the same as when I firdt got it. You would think I just pulled it out of the box. I don't think any of the new ones will last anywhere near as long or be as good, other than a nicer brighter screen which I don't care about.

I got a fenix 8 and love it. Haven't experienced a bug yet. I'm sure they'll stop supporting it sooner than I'd like, but I wear it pretty much 24/7 and don't regret the purchase. It's been an almost perfect running watch, and I'm really glad I went with it instead of, say, the Ultra 3.

I have a Frnix3HR that I bought new years ago when I was training for a half marathon that I wear everyday. No major issues and battery still is almost as good as new, lasts a week and a half. One time it had an issue with connecting to the phone and the app which was frustrating and a later software update solved it. Love GARMIN!

Very nice watch but the nautical features would be lost on me. I get sea sick in a bathtub.

I too have a Garmin epic gen 2 watch for last 4 years and it been running flawlessly. But I also happen to have amazefit watch that I bought for my family member comes at quarter price ... And it also worked flawlessly. So when the time comes for me to buy a new watch when the battery fails.... Let's just say I have a choice here.

ah you are right, I missed that, thought it would be for November

Garmin August 25 Livestream - Fenix 9 and Enduro 4

so it would be foolish to buy any garmin right now, prices will be pushed down

There's certainly many good options out, depends on your uses/needs/wants.

I used to have Xiaomi MiBands which the Amazefit was modeled after.

But then I got into cycling and the Garmin ecosystem, with their bike computer, headlight, rear light/radar, and then watch. So now Garmin is my 'only' choice.

But hard to justify upgrading any of their products with their price point when the original ones i bought ages ago work just as perfect as new

Here's a link to buy from Amazon directly, though it says only 3 left in stock for me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...X0DER&th=1

It's the 1st gen.

Garmin supports their products. I had one die on me and they gave me a great deal on a refurb.

But when they come at quadruple the prices. (Quite literally, that's a price difference between my amaze fit balance2 versus Garmin epic 2), I stopped caring that much for after warranty support. let's say my Garmin watch somehow has the warranty support for 8 years. I don't mind getting a new amazfit watch every 3 years, and still comes out to be cheaper after 8 years.
I saw other people's reply about how you will use Garmin if you use a lot of their other outdoor tracking devices, and that's certainly true. but just as a general fitness tracker watch, I have zero brand loyalty here
