Any idea as to whether the grinding mechanism is made of steel or plastic? I had a store bought, pre-filled sea salt grinder and the amount of plastic that was worn down was crazy. Should have known better.

You likely have a chunk stuck in the grinder preventing it from dialing down to a finer grind. Inspect the grind adjustment knob and clear anything that might be stuck, then try adjusting the grind again.

I have this issue with every manual grinder I've used. It happens often when you go from a coarse to a fine grind.

It's more about multitasking than laziness. Many times one hand is touching ground beef while the other one is clean and grinding salt and pepper. Same goes if you're holding a spoon with one hand. It's faster to apply salt and pepper with one hand than to commit both.

I got them and both me and the wife like them. They work well and come with a stand. They come with charging wires but no charger. They grind well and look good.

Bought these - wouldn't recommend them. There's a dial on the bottom to adjust how fine you want it to grind but I can't get it to grind it fine. Comes out in big chunks of salt and pepper. I wish I saved my $ and bought nicer ones

these look exactly like the same ones that were $12 a week ago. They're fine for an electric grinder, they say you can adjust how fine you can do it, but i can't seem to figure it out lol i don't think it works like that.
