You likely have a chunk stuck in the grinder preventing it from dialing down to a finer grind. Inspect the grind adjustment knob and clear anything that might be stuck, then try adjusting the grind again.

I have this issue with every manual grinder I've used. It happens often when you go from a coarse to a fine grind.

It's more about multitasking than laziness. Many times one hand is touching ground beef while the other one is clean and grinding salt and pepper. Same goes if you're holding a spoon with one hand. It's faster to apply salt and pepper with one hand than to commit both.

We picked this set up a few weeks back and surprisingly love them. I got so tired of replacing like 8 batteries every time our previous ones died. And yeah, I could have gotten rechargeable batteries but having a USB-C charging method is SO much easier. I also love that the salt grinder can be turned to a fine enough setting that it's like salt dust coming out. Our previous set dropped large chunks of salt that would crunch in your mouth. Didn't expect to like these but really impressed.

I have this and it only intermittently spits out pepper regardless of the setting, thus taking 2-3 times longer than it should. I try hitting it, turning it upside down and hitting it, shaking it, etc. but it's a persistent problem. Kind of wish I had just stuck with a hand grinder.
