The reality is those cheap drones are essentially toys. Sure, you can do some acrobatics with it and it has a crappy webcam-esque camera that you can play around, but they aren't exactly easy to fly, battery life sucks on them (like 4-5 minutes, at most) and at least mine always needed some trim adjustment to stay level.
These DJI drones are basically on a completely different level. They'll automatically self-level. They can follow you. They have built in GPS to return to home when battery life is getting low so you'll never accidently lose it because you ran out of power. The 4K camera is actually 4K and has a stabilized gimbal for shots that are actually worth editing. The newer AI modes don't even require a controller or even a phone - they can detect your hand gestures and change the settings accordingly.
For me personally, I do a lot of photography and sometimes there's some really awesome shots that are obstructed by trees, power lines or something else that there's no way to get around. A drone would allow me to get those shots from angles that are simply impossible without it.
