I need 21mm and 24mm. This is how they get us to buy duplicate sockets.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

10, 13, 15, 17, and 19mm. Those sizes don't match up with any of the normal universal, German, or Japanese standards. If you buy this odd set, depending what you're working on, you will probably need to buy some additional sizes and may never use some of what's included. https://boltport.com/technical/me...ize-chart/

I use 3/8" sockets for fasteners between 11 and 15 mm. 1/4" sockets at or below 10 mm, and 1/2" sockets at or above 16 mm. No reason to use a 3/8" impact unless you're Pee Wee Herman or wrench all day for a living. Harbor Freight has a very capable set of 1/2" impact this week for $25 (with 24, 27, 30, and 32 mm sockets). The 12 point set (perfect for aircraft maintenance) was $20 a few weeks back. Lifetime warranty and trouble free exchange if defective. My 2012 Taiwanese set is still going strong.

Caution: the HF set lacks 16 mm for crappy Ford, Jeep, VW, and BMW (hands on experiences). A 5/8" socket will work if you don't have 16 mm.

I will not get metric sets like this that leave out what they consider standard. My go-to is metric on all vehicles and standard if need be. It is what the majority use. I hardly ever even use standard anymore. 8 10 13 15 18 are used all the time and what i am most often looking to replace 19 for 3/4 lugs gets lost as well. It's like DeWalt saves money at the cost of the user's time. Sure it would cost a little more to be more complete but why wouldn't you want it more complete? No i would not use 3/8 on an impact like for lugs. Just saying notice whats missing before you buy it.

Dewalt deal: $2 each for small 3/8" sockets. Harbor Freight has big 1/2" sockets (up to 32 mm) today for the same unit price. Black & Decker requires return of defective part for warranty replacement. Still waiting for Black & Decker to ship a defective Proto wrench....3 weeks and counting. It takes 15 min to drive to my HF store to swap out the tool.

European vs. Japanese cars. My first car was Italian and 10-13-17 would handle 95% of the fasteners on that car.

I use these sizes all the time. Never had Japanese so maybe that's the difference. Doesn't seem strange to me at all.
But I really hate it that they can't just make it a sale. This stupid coupon thing taxes the original value and that sucks. Like paying double taxes

This is the correct take.

Dewalt doesn't make socket sets for ancient Italian cars.

99% of cars made in the last 25 years can be completely disassembled with 10/12/14/17 (with an occasional 19 and 21)
This set is next to worthless for people working on regular cars. If you have to work on busted old muscle cars or European cars you already live a life of rust, pain and regret and have the proper specialty tools.
