I have also used it once or twice for outdoor parties to power a crock pot or whatever.
Obviously this is smaller and lighter and would be easier for the outdoor party scenario - but needing a power station for that is a pretty rare occurrence for me. I assume this would not be powerful enough to run a full-size refrigerator (yes while running they draw 150-250W, but the startup surge is much more than that - and even if it could handle the surge, the runtime would be low). So what do people use units like this (not necessarily this exact model) for? Or does having a Delta 2 mean I don't really need this?

I use the smaller one to power my refrigerator when recharging my larger one with solar panels or generator.
With a large power backup device and a couple smaller ones and a generator, you can use the batteries until they are depleted, then recharge them with the generator until the batteries are recharged. Then turn off the generator until the batteries get low.
