It's a good deal I guess if you don't already own it would personally hold out for a sale on the 4K one of the best discs I own.

I have this release and I believe it's quite good overall for a 1080p release despite a few issues. Most notably, Shout! Factory over-sharpened it pretty severely, which is highly unfortunate. They should know better than to do such things. As a result of the excessive sharpening, they took a beautifully organic film and damaged that film-like beauty. For different reasons the earlier Universal 1080p disc also half destroyed the film-like qualities -- they badly scrubbed the grain with DNR. Films shot on film should look like film, grain and all. That's what makes them so attractive, way more so than modern digitally-captured trash. It's a shame the studios have so often failed to understand this.

The 4K blu-ray released by Universal Studios is a native 4K transfer and it looks phenomenal! The main complaint is that the 4K disc didn't come with original audio in DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 (which this blu-ray includes), and the audio mix for the 4K blu-ray sounds muted for certain effects compared to the 2.0

Just to be clear: this is a FHD blu-ray and not a 4K disc in this deal.

Great deal on this classic movie. The 4k /blu ray combo is available now for $25 at B&N if you want the upgrade - and you want it.

Love the 4k of this movie. Didn't pay much more on a combo deal from gruv. Maybe 11 each for 3.

The prequel isn't bad either and looks fine on BD imo.
