Grew up with DE razor. We all switched cause they are terrible razors compared to modern multiblade razors, not because of terrible marketing. DE was way cheaper, once you had the razor, cause blades were super cheap. SO much bleeding ..... so many cuts. Modern multi blade razors are way more comfortable. source - and old guy after decades and decades of shaving ....

I have to agree with this. Modern multiblade razors didn't exist when I started shaving, so the bits of toilet paper on the various nicks and cuts was just a way of life. Nowadays with these modern razors, I can't recall the last time I had a nick on my face. I have a Proraso styptic gel that I keep on hand - but I haven't used it in years!

Another agreement here.
I go between a DE, a straight edge Feather replaceable blade and a multi-blade cartridge razor.
Absolute fastest and closest shave is with a multi-blade, which rarely (probably never) cause nicks or cuts.
I use the straight edge when I haven't shaved for a while - long hairs will quickly clog up a multi-blade, and straight edge or DE don't have this problem. DE and especially straight edge will cut if you're not prepped properly or technique goes off the rails for a second. I would often still do a once over with a multi-blade if I want a close shave, or don't have time to be meticulous with the other razors.

Check this one out. https://a.co/d/04RJuozoIt's expensive upfront, but it's much better and virtually no cuts. I use it to shave my head and I'm not particularly careful

agreed. i will never go back to DE razors. i stockpiled on the Gillette Fusions back in the day, circa 2010, when they were free with those walgreens, cvs, and rite aid rebates and even instant cash back to a points card. i must have gotten a hundred of them or more. it was a family event, lol. they had so many versions, and each came with 2 extra blades. i'm still going through them.
No coupon for me either. But I appreciate these posts because it gives me a reason to downvote for "Unable to replicate" to give me tickets for the daily draw which I'll never win.
