Very tempted but I don't love the length. I'm wondering if that's annoying. Anyone who has this have any thoughts?

It's an excellent deal and excellent vest, looks like I bought it on Amazon way back in 2016 and I've used it for years for hiking. It does use those sandbags that are a bit bulkier than iron ingots but it helps spread out the weight more. Quality has been good, its been getting some tears here and there this last couple years but its gotten a fair amount of use.

I did end up replacing the CAP with the MiR Air Flow vest because they are more low profile (with the iron ingots) and it goes up to 60 lbs, but the MiR does seem to focus more weight on the chest and shoulder area compared to the CAP making for some more discomfort on longer hikes.

If you're on the fence I say its a definite go.

I was looking at the MIR due to the profile. Is it worth the extra cost?

The problem with all these weird vests and I've purchased several of them from 30 lb to over a hundred with the adjustable ones is they all just end up killing your shoulder area and eventually hurts your neck

The MiR does have its pluses, and I've seen it on slickdeals for both Amazon and Woot for around $70-80 depending on how many weights come with it. The weight math for the vest is kinda funky because the vest has 19 slots and the weights are 3lbs each, so the 40 lb kit comes with 13 ingots.

I feel like its a little more than half the length of the CAP so def more low profile, but I feel that additional weight all on my chest instead of spread out, plus the shoulder area doesn't seem as comfy as the CAP, but that could just be the additional weight since I have it at "60 lbs".

I'd recommend either, just depending on what you want to use them for I reckon.

Was it 70-80 for the 60lb? If so I'll definitely get the MIR

Nah I ended up buying the 40lb one off Amazon for $80 on sale (I've seen it less since then) and then I wanted to fill all the slots on the vest. Buying the individual weights is stupid expensive so I bought the 50lb vest on Woot also for $80 and just combined some to make one vest 60lbs and the other 30lbs. I ended up gifting the 30lb to a buddy.

Cool. I saw the 40 and 50lb previous deal posts. I guess I'll wait for the next deal to hit those prices. I appreciate the help. Thanks!

These are great vests. If you don't have one and want one, even just try, these are kinda a no brainer on sale. I have one cheap 20lb one that i got years ago that is holding up well, and another 100lb i got last year. Used for weight training, love em both. Thought id never use the 20lb but actually having two for lighter days and heavy days is pretty convenient
