Oura Ring 5 is a premium smart ring for sleep and activity tracking, and this healthcare promo brings the price down sharply. The discount can stack with Amex credits, and store pickup avoids the $15 shipping fee. The main catch is the subscription, since the app is much more limited without it and some checkout attempts show the ID.me discount banner without applying the savings. A solid value only if the promo and subscription setup work for your account.
Best Buy store pickup can avoid the $15 shipping charge for this purchase.
The Amex Platinum statement credit can stack with the healthcare discount for a lower effective price.
The healthcare discount can persist through the place-order page after ID.me verification.
The healthcare promo can be eligible for Ring 5, unlike an earlier Best Buy discount that only applied to Ring 4.
The discount experience can be misleading because the ID.me green banner may show while the cart still receives no discount.
The Amex Platinum benefit may not cover the subscription payment, and the app can provide limited information without an active subscription.
The deal may be less compelling once the subscription cost is considered over time.
The healthcare promo is limited to a small verified group rather than a universal 30% off deal.

They used to allow you to connect the data to Apple Health without a subscription; they removed that. You can still get your data but have to manually export the CSV, and upload it to another third party.
After 2-3 years, you'll want to buy a new ring due to battery life degrading to 1-2 days from the original 4-6. So with that in mind, $70 per year for the subscription, $400 over 2.5 years for the base model. Oura Ring will cost you $230 continuously per year at full price.
People should look at RingConn; their Gen 3 is about to release and should match Oura 5's feature set with a better battery (not sure how they do this), no subscription, and the same form factor. Their app is worse, but you can easily sync to various other health apps for free. Plus:
The only advantages of Oura are a slightly better app with a subscription, slightly better HR tracking during HIIT workouts, and they have clinical validation, but all tests seem to indicate that RingConn performs just as well, if not better.
Also I can read ebooks/play music/doomscroll with it by swiping on the ring to turn the page.
So ya these things are a huge waste of money

This deal is not valid on Black Friday so could wait and hope or just get a 5 now for $30 more.
RingConn 3 is better option.
It's currently not $50 off, so its $150. But I have seen it go on $50 sales several times bringing the total down to $100. I have an HSA so it's eligible. If you have an FSA, just buy it at the end of the year when it resets.
Use it with the Aizo Ring app instead of the stareep ring app. It seems to be the best app atm for these 3rd party rings.
My two main purposes are to track my sleep and use its smart touch application to flip pages for my ebook.
All the rings use similar algorithms as the back-end tech in order to track sleep so this device vs a watch and/or arm band won't be too big of a discrepancy. My experience upon review of the data is about 95% accurate. It has its hiccups, but I think that's just due to my own farked up sleep cycle - hence the tracking.
As for the smart applications, it can play/pause skip music, take photos, doom scroll tiktok/ig and a "slide" control feature, which I don't really see anyone using it.
There are also step trackers and whatnot, but I don't use those but from looking over the data, it's pretty accurate as well.
For these rings, there are multiple apps that are able to be connected, just gotta play with them
