GL.iNet's MUDI 7 is a battery powered travel router built for mobile internet sharing, hotspot switching, and VPN use on the road. The hardware stands out with eSIM and dual nano SIM support, 2.5G LAN, a screen, and roughly 13 plus hours of battery life, with real world reports of 300 to 400 Mbps and enough charge left after a long travel day. It also handles hotel Wi Fi repeating and keeps devices connected while moving between hotspots. The main catch is carrier and region compatibility, since NA and EU versions lack key bands for cross region travel and major US carriers can reject or later throttle the device. It is best suited to the region it was bought for.
Common Questions (5)
No single region version is a safe buy for international travel. The NA and EU models each lack critical 5G and, in some cases, 4G LTE bands for the other region, so travelers may need the matching regional model for where they use it.
It can be difficult with major carriers, especially Verizon, because the IMEI may be rejected as an unapproved device. Workarounds include activating the SIM in a whitelisted phone first, using MVNOs, or cloning a donor phone IMEI, but some setups later get throttled or banned.
Yes. It supports eSIM and dual nano-SIM, and it can also be used with carrier SIMs such as T-Mobile-based plans for travel or backup internet.
It can last through a long travel day: one report says it still had about 40-50% battery after 12 hours of heavy use and 4-5GB of data. That same use case saw roughly 300-400 Mbps, making it strong for backpack, plane, and hotel use.
Yes. The Amazon purchase is reported to include a 2-year warranty and 30-day returns, with optional extended coverage available; one buyer also noted free fast shipping.
