GL.iNet's MUDI 7 is a battery powered travel router built for mobile internet sharing, hotspot switching, and VPN use on the road. The hardware stands out with eSIM and dual nano SIM support, 2.5G LAN, a screen, and roughly 13 plus hours of battery life, with real world reports of 300 to 400 Mbps and enough charge left after a long travel day. It also handles hotel Wi Fi repeating and keeps devices connected while moving between hotspots. The main catch is carrier and region compatibility, since NA and EU versions lack key bands for cross region travel and major US carriers can reject or later throttle the device. It is best suited to the region it was bought for.
The router can deliver strong travel throughput while running for long backpack days on battery power.
The app and screen controls make it easy to switch Wi‑Fi hotspots and re-enable VPN connectivity.
The device can improve hotel connectivity by using a T‑Mobile SIM and can also function as a Wi‑Fi repeater out of cell coverage.
The Amazon purchase experience reportedly includes a two-year warranty and a 30-day return window.
International travel can be problematic because the NA and EU versions may lack critical 5G and sometimes 4G LTE bands.
Major US carrier approval can block activation because Verizon may reject the router IMEI as unapproved.
Workarounds for carrier restrictions can lead to throttling or bans after initial connectivity success.
T‑Mobile hotspot service may be required for dependable operation, and disruptions on T‑Mobile can prevent service.
