I don't recommend this dryer. It's not airtight so if you don't immediately put the filament in a dry box after drying, it starts to get wet. I ended up getting a SUNLU SP2 which has been great. The box and dryer are separate and can be sealed airtight when not on the dryer.

You can't dry much at 70c, you need at least 85c or you'll be running it for days. For engineering filaments you will need at minimum 85-90c.

I can't speak to this specific drier, but when I started noticing some consistent stringing issues and got way too much of that shitty Creality Soleyin filament (thought I could trust the brand), using a drier helped so much. For me the cost of a filament drier (I got a single spool unit for like $35) was worth it to not pitch or give away the crappy filament. I might pick this up and be able to rotate that crappy filament to mass print.

I don't think that driers are meant for long term storage, dry it and put it in a sealed tote with some desiccant packs and you should be good for a while. If you live in a very humid environment then you'll be fighting this issue anyway but if you don't then you should be good for a while after drying the filament.

this is blatantly not correct. PLA/PLA+ only needs like 50-55C and PETG needs like 60-65C. I'm guessing the majority of 3D printing hobbyists are using those filaments.

Coupon good through 08/26 in US
The single Pi is $23.38 with coupon USBS03.

It appears they are clearing out in anticipation of the v2 units. They will heat to 75°C, and with improved airflow and elements. That said, the V1 are still fine for most filament drying needs. PPA-CF should really hit 85°C, so the SpacePi X is recommended. V2 for that is coming out soon too. Also, I should note that the Creality CFS systems will soon have internal drying. Release date TBD (Pre-order available on Ali).

What about the budget Sovol SH01? This 2 filament dryer is going for around ~$35 with coupons.
