Community Reviews
Barilla Protein+ Penne is a plant based protein pasta deal that looks strong on price, with the 12 pack listed at $2.84 and Subscribe and Save dropping it to $2.70. The price also compares favorably with Costco or Sam's, and the deal has sat near this level for months. The main issue is fulfillment, since multiple orders arrived as a single box instead of the advertised 12 pack, sometimes crushed or damaged, and refunds or replacements were inconsistent. A tempting price, but the quantity risk is real.
Common Questions (4)
The listing is advertised as a 12-pack, but multiple orders reportedly arrived as only one box instead of 12. Some buyers received a refund or free replacement, so the fulfillment risk is real.
Food-safety rules can block returns or exchanges, and some buyers were offered only a refund or a free replacement instead. That makes the deal lower-risk if Amazon resolves it, but not ideal if you need a guaranteed 12-pack.
Camelcamelcamel shows this price, or lower, for the last few months, so it may be a regular price rather than a one-time mistake. The Subscribe & Save price drops it to $2.70, with free shipping on Prime or $35+ orders.
Some deliveries arrived crushed, sticky, or in a padded mailer with faded ink, making the box unusable. If packaging condition matters, this deal may be a gamble.

It's a quick chat with Amazon CS. I'm not going to chat back and forth with them for 30mins. I present the screenshots showing that it should be for 48 boxes and if they won't provide a. a refund or b. the missing boxes; I easily submit the online dispute with my CCC and with the screenshots they will easily find in my favor. I'll spend the 5-10 mins for $10.
They bank on the idea that if they waste enough of your time and make it difficult that you'll just throw in the towel. If they fight/argue with me about it, I just turn it over to my CCC. I've made my good faith effort to get what I paid for, at that point it's between Amazon and the CCC.
I dealt with the same issue on the 24packs of tuna a few years ago with the same result when they sent 4 cans instead of 96.
Not sure that much time is worth $2.84, but hey, worth a shot if you're game.
Sitting this one out, too much of a potential penne in the ass!
