Found this on my routine check for NAS HDD's. Looks like a decent deal. I will wait for snarky comments telling me if I am wrong. It includes 5-year seller warranty.

I recently started searching for a backup drive of larger sizes ( my last backup drive was 2TB lol) so bear with me. In this case, this could be a drive that's been retired from a server with a lot of hours, right? Is a 0 hour refurb drive just rolling the odometer back and claiming it has 0 hours? It's probably better to wait for a deal for a new one?

I'm not sure but I've heard that you can if you can get to the controller and know what you're doing...

I've settled on a $100 6tb enterprise with 2k hours from a smaller seller and passed my tests...had my eyes on this but that zero hours is sketchy tho they offer 5 years and have high feedback (Some negs)....should run test right away anyways for something so expensive.

So far, all 3 of my GoHardDrive refurb drives have failed. On a positive note, they've paid out every time.

I didn't get into HDD market for couple years. I had my Unraid server running with couple 12TB drives. It was $80 in slickdeals.. Holy crap, these go up to $300 now???

Last time I did it I received a refund - it sucked.

I got two of these yesterday for my UGREEN. They passed all tests and seem to function great.

I've got 5 x 12TB drives from GoHardDrive in RAIDZ2 set to never go into power saving. I have been using them with TrueNAS for 2-3 years now, and none have shown any issues.

This isn't meant to contradict your experience with 3 drives. It's just meant to be another data point. IMO, sharing that GoHardDrive honors their warranties might be even more important than our pass/fail stories.

dude, i was literally thinking this same thing. i got 4 drives for my nas server for under $400 a few years back. Was just thinking recently i should get some backups incase one fails i can swap out quick. I guess if it fails now ill just be running without redundancy. lol no way im paying $300 for a used drive. crazy.

I've got a refurb 14tb with a LOT of hours on it in my NAS and I am dreading the day it inevitably dies. These prices are depressing.

These prices just don't sit right with me. It feels like outright extortion.

Spinning hard drives were supposed to get really cheap. It is absolutely depressing to see the hard drive market like it is right now.

That's the downside to the warranty, they are refunding not sending a replacement drive that's worth 3x-4x as much as what was paid.
