This is a serious piece of equipment. I thought "oh a cordless leaf blower will be a novelty at best" and I was dead wrong. I get a lot of run time (by my non commercial standards) with a 9AH battery and this thing blows good sized rocks out of my garage and off my sidewalk. I took it out to a stone path I got and it was moving medium sized cobbles, I was very surprised.

This is model DCBL772. DeWalt has an upgraded version with model DCBL777. Based on both DeWalt's listed specs and comments from users online, the upgraded DCBL777 is both more powerful and quieter. And the consensus seems to be that the DCBL772 is not only louder, but has a higher and less pleasant pitch.

The daily price difference at Home Depot is $50 ($250 vs $300). And I've seen this cheaper DCBL772 go on sale a lot more often. Getting the
DCBL777 will likely mean both paying more and waiting longer for a sale. But for some who aren't in a rush, it might be worth waiting for the DCBL777 to go on sale.

I am splurging a bit by upgrading some DeWalt's tools from 20V to 60V variants. In my case, my 20V blower still works fine. I'd rather wait longer, pay a bit more, and get a bigger upgrade.

EDIT: Thumbs up. Even though I'm waiting for the DCBL777, this is still a good deal.

just picked this up for 156.60 at a local home depot and immediately put it to the test with a 6AH flexvolt battery.

It is very light and simple. There is a trigger, a trigger lock, and that's it. Nothing digital or fancy. The black blower tip part comes off, for easier storage.

The complaint about the noise I'm not sure if I understand. It's much quieter than gas. It's about as loud as a commercial vacuum. If a vacuum is too loud for you, I don't know what to tell you.

I haven't tried the 777, so I cannot compare.

for reference, my yard is about 225 sqft with a magnolia tree. heavily neglected with a layer of loose clippings and "mulch" from previous mows. covered in large dried magnolia leaves.

was able to blow off the entire surface of the yard, sidewalk, driveway, blow material up against brick or masonry or curb for scooping up with a broom / pan. I'd say about 30 minutes of on/off blowing, with full trigger. Battery died right at the end, so was able to finish without much trouble.

I think with a couple more 6AH batteries this thing would be plenty for a front and backyard.

Though admittedly Bomgaars is the better deal here, if you live next to one (they don't ship their deal). They also have a great deal on the V2 of this (the 777) with a battery.
