The top part is top quite heavy at least 25 lbs. I guess that's why it's not a "solid" piece of fabric spanning 12 feet by 6 feet. There are slits or vents over the entire umbrella to allow air to flow through.
I like it so far but had to put it away since my current base is not strong enough to hold this umbrella. Plan to get a larger and heavier base and add 50 lbs of sandbags on top.

We use a cover when its closed.
And store it during off season.
For those who say its too narrow must not be using the tilt feature.
What I didn't like is the fact its doesn't have the 3 legs on the bottom. Its a single pole so I found on breezy days that bottom weight cod give, verses having 4 water/sand weights.
