You definitely did not. You MIGHT have gotten 2 sticks of DDR5, but LPDDR5 and LPDDR5x are always soldered for various reasons, unless it's a CAMM2 setup I suppose.

Yes I used $77 in coins saved up, and $4 in shopping credits from "Savings Mondays" weekly deal. But a $10 store coupon, $95 site coupon and $35 offer for paying with PayPal (Ali auto-applied) was where most of the savings came from. Buying first day of sales when all the promo's stack is the only way to buy super cheap on Ali. And of course have tons of coins banked in case the item you want shows up in the Coins search with extra discounts (in this case it was 16% off with coins before all other discounts._
Yes, identical one. S3A, H 255, 16GB (4x soldered SAMSUNG memory in quad channel mode, 512GB SSD with thermal pads and heat sink preinstalled -- better than Firebat)
Not a single virus on any partition, prescanned taking SSD out before booting with Windows Defender AND Malware Bytes. Nothing showed up later once booted. I was extra careful since the 6600H Firebat in April came infested with 50+ viruses even after they supposedly had fixed the issue.
Performance is amazing compared to the 6600H firebat deal from April. I ran it 60 minutes with OCCT and not a single issue popped up. Top thermal measurement was around 83C running full blast.

The Steam Machine's GPU should be something like 2.5-2.8x faster with the same graphics settings and resolution. If the 780m can play something at 30fps, the Steam Machine's 7600m would fall in the 70-90fps range. It's a whole different performance class. And the Steam Machine's GPU isn't even particularly powerful compared to most modern GPUs.
The 780m is meant to be a "good enough" solution for low wattage minis. It can play most modern games with low detail at 720p or 1080p, quite a few older games at medium - high, and most emulation up to PS3 quite well. The last category is why 780m boxes are a favorite for retro boxes.
The CPU on the other hand is quite a bit more powerful that the Steam Machines. The 6-core Zen 4 custom CPU falls somewhere near a Ryzen 7540u, while the H255 will be around 35% faster in multi-threaded workloads, and 6% faster in single threaded situations.
