So you suggest it is not a good deal because your claim might be accurate?

i suggest that one does not need to root on OP because they arent posting for the good of the community, or the benefit of the community, or accolades from the community. they are getting paid to advertise a sale. its like saying, "nice work NBC" when they play you a mcdonalds ad.

and also, yes. if a company/brand needs to pay to publicize a deal, its probably not that much of a deal. if it was truly a good deal it would sell out on its own, or a community member would post it.

IE, this jacket has been this price(or less) 11 times over the past year, per my amazon price tracker.

Understood. I was merely curious, to be fair. I value the detailed and thorough response. I am still learning more about this deal app.

this website/app is a shell of what it used to be. it used to be user posted deals for the benefit of the community. now its 99% the staff posting paid advertisements disguised as deals, so the stockholders/owner of the website can make money at the detriment of the community.

While members often post the best deals, Slickdeals earns money mostly when the product sells, so staff want to post deals that people are excited to buy. I'm not sure if this is a promoted deal, but sellers aren't just trying to scam customers either, they want repeat customers who chose them over competitors. It's true everyone's interests don't always align, but it's not good for business if shoppers are disappointed.

yeah, ok, lol.

the bottom line is that this nonsense gets posted and artificially given an inflated deal score, not because it is a good deal, but because someone was paid to post it here. its manipulative and dishonest.

the scam is tricking people into buying stuff under the ruse of it being a good deal. they buy the stuff, and they are very VERY unlikely to ever realize it wasnt a good deal because people dont sit there and price watch an item they already bought. so... they come back to this site, and the vendor.

"The best scam is one where the victim never realizes they have been cheated."

luckily for your employer the average consumer is naive to this scam, but dont try to convince me that its raining down my back. ill shut up now before i mysteriously get my account banned.
