Spyderco's lightweight Value Folder line stands out as an affordable way to get S35VN steel and Spyderco's smooth action, with the knives feeling surprisingly refined for the price. The deal also drew attention for free shipping with code AC-SHIP, which made the total much more attractive than the earlier shipping quotes. The main caveats are that some blades are marked China, the pocket clip is not deep carry, and pricing can be close to Amazon or even higher once shipping is added. A practical beater knife option if the total lands right.
Knife carriers who want a smooth-opening EDC folder, because the action is amazingly smooth to deploy and retract.
Spyderco shipping was reported as $9 under $150 in one case and $13 in another, which can erase much of the savings versus Amazon. A free-shipping code, AC-SHIP, was later posted and changes the total cost significantly.
Yes. Some blades are engraved with "China," and the lower price is tied to that origin; otherwise these knives would reportedly cost $50-$100 more. They're positioned as affordable beaters you can carry without worrying about losing them.
Yes, this deal is for S35VN/S35V steel versions, which are considered a step up from the typical Chinese steel on cheaper folders. The steel is a major reason the knife is viewed as a strong value at around $50-$60.
Sezzle appears on the payment page and was used successfully to buy multiple knives, including a reported $75 shipped order for two S35VN knives. One post also mentioned a $50 sign-up discount tied to Sezzle.
No deep-carry clip is included on this model, but aftermarket deep-carry clips are available for Spyderco knives. That makes the carry setup easy to modify if the stock clip is a dealbreaker.
Yes many things are made in China. Americans shun and hate power plants, factories, smokestacks and such and we make little here but they do like to shop like crazy for random doodads and amusements. There is great worry that China is far surpassing in manufacturing and technical ability. As we shut down power plants China just builds them like crazy. All the oil and coal we don't burn they burn to make us stuff.

We supply a good amount of the coal they use. Trains many miles long of nothing but coal cars and fifteen locomotives (five pulling, five center, give pushing) arrive frequently at Portland ...

We do supply some but the % is small compared to what we send elsewhere. I am glad to see this. US building twice as much gas-fired capacity as China in AI boom, analysis finds https://www.theguardian.com/us-ne...datacenter
Occasionally the price will go this low on the Amazon Spyderco Store deals. So at this price if you're willing to wait and keep looking you can get them for less if you have Prime (free shipping).
With $13 shipping it's $68+tax for the Resilience (I live in Denver and would be happy to go pick it up in Golden), it's more expensive than the same knife sold on Amazon ($65.60+tax right now)... Pass.
"Low-end" knifes generally are. But this "low-end" knife is a high-end knife compared to most of what you find out there.
Your computer and mobile phone are probably made in China, as well. China will make you anything you want, from cheap junk to world-class quality, if you're willing to pay.

I don't even know what a good Spyderco is supposed to cost.

I was fully prepared to have that order cancelled...I'm still amazed it went through.
