Is this really the prices of these generators these days? A couple years ago I picked up the Firman dual fuel 4000 Watt version of this with electric start for $340. Refurbished direct from firman through ebay just like this one. Unless I'm missing something these prices seem ridiculous...

Possibly. Or maybe this simply isn't a good deal 🤔
I'm seeing the dual fuel electric start version on sale at Lowe's new for $699. Personally I'd pay that long before I'd pay $560 for this gas only refurb. I'm wondering if the model I bought is no longer sold at Costco. Haven't seen it in the store in a couple of years nor has it been for sale on the website. I'm sure that selling them out of Costco for several years created an abundance of refurbs, since they used to be everywhere. That's probably the biggest issue right there..
This is a lot for a firman refurb. Just a few years ago they were unloading tons of this exact unit 'refurbished' @ $240 and they were very hit or miss. Many came in poor shape. Mine came DOA - engine ran but no power output. I did some troubleshooting myself but it seemed like the inverter was dead.
I got a refund but they basically just pawned it off on me to 'dispose' of it. Thankfully, if you post these for free on craigslist there will almost always be someone by to pick it up in an hour. Probably could've sold it for the working engine but I'd kept it long enough that I just didn't want to deal with it anymore.
I ultimately ended up getting the wh03242 (4000/3200W) dual fuel unit w/ electric start @ $340 and it starts/runs/generates as it should.. but yeah. $560 isn't all that much less than what Costco was selling these for, new.
