Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I have bought two different Banral flashlights from posts here and they are both reasonably well built. The zoom barrel on bother is wobbly when fully extended but I don't ever use it that way (tight beam). They both are all aluminum unlike some other brands.

This model is definitely bigger than the others but almost twice the price (after coupons). The product description says it includes a high capacity 18650 battery which one reviewer confirmed. That would be the only reason I would buy it over the smaller, cheaper models.

From a 4 star review review (in Germany) posted March 19, 2025: 'The product details are exaggerated, but it is a pretty capable flashlight'.

The package includes:
* The flashlight - all metal build, it has a strap too.
* One rechargeable battery pre-installed - it is an 18650 battery marked as 21RL28 5000mAh. I doubt the 5000mAh capacity though.
* Plastic sleeve for 18650 battery - you remove it if you want to install a bigger 21700 battery.
* 3x AAA batteries.
* Adapter for using AAA batteries.
* USB-C cable.

I got 3 from a previous deal that look identical to this with a different branding. Tughlax, but it was 3 for $15.

They are good little cheap lights. Battery drains kinda fast on high setting, but it's very bright.

These are probably a step up and much larger than the $5 Tughlax flashlights you have. I have both the Tughlax and several flashlights similar to the Banral. But they do have their different advantages. The Tughlax is a better EDC as it is lighter and smaller. The size dimension of the Tughlax you have is 5.9 x 1.3 x 1. The Banral is 6.7 x 1.6 x 1.3. Because of its size and weight, you will not find the Banral easy to use as an EDC. However the Banral is a slightly better tactical flashlight due to its larger size and heavier weight and a better emergency light with its ability to switch to regular AAA batteries.

The pic on the kitchen table makes this thing look huge, as does the backpack pic, but alas it is not very big (subjective but a "6.55 inch" flashlight is not very big IMO)

Can you define what a tactical flashlight is?

8/26: Ordered. Thanks.

8/31 EDIT: I just got mine yesterday afternoon. Love the battery % display, zoomable from flood to a small bright round spotlight, and the last setting memory (but have to hold power button down for 3-sec to turn off). A little bigger than I expected... it came with (my first) 21700 battery with a plastic sleeve over it.

A good tactical flashlight rugged enough that it can be used as a weapon, bright enough that it could temporarily blind an opponent, and yet small enough that it can be carried daily. The Fenix PD36 TAC is often cited as one of the best tactical flashlights.

Right on. While I've seen it on numerous items it always just seems like buzz words. I was really struggling to imagine what makes a flashlight "tactical". I guess Maglites were tactical before it was cool (big one weren't an edc but their smaller ones worked great). lol Thanks for answering.

The Fenix PD36 TAC is 3000 Lm at almost a $100--Is this really 2000 Lumen or even 1500 ?

Probably not. All these flashlights claim 1000 lumens or more. But there's no convenient way for us to measure them. However I think you will find that for the average homeowner, these newer LED flashlights will be more than adequate for your needs. I have been amazed how much better these are than my old non-LED Maglite.

Don't know which TrixHub you are referring to as your link does not go an Amazon page. However I do not think that TrixHub makes a flashlight which can use regular AAA batteries, a useful feature for those who experience prolonged electrical power outtages.
