Don't see any interesting benefits. Probably wouldn't even recoup $50 over 5 years!

My parents have this and have found it useful. They have events fairly regularly that are some pretty good deals. In the summer in our area they do free ice cream at several places, and in the fall there is free apple picking. They are also each allowed to bring a guest (guest can be anyone). For them it is well worth the $11/year.

Use a throwaway email address because the AARP emails absolutely will...not....stop. Ever. Until you are DEAD!

(Borrowed that line from "Terminator" but it's definitely true.)
They don't stop then, either.

Discounts are more than worth it Smilie
Whatever discounts you are getting through them, you can beat elsewhere. Guaranteed. In fact, when I use AARP in the discount box at most hotels, the rate goes up. Same for AAA

Not the Walmart plus discount. That pays for the membership.

I prefer to get a yearly deal as they give away a free item to signup and pay a discounted price. I usually get a deal yearly, like Motel6, driver's class for insurance discount.
